A method of selection of optimum solutions relating to the long-range structure of the fuel and energy complex of the Soviet Union is set forth. This method consists in finding the zone of equal economic solutions and their subsequent refinement in terms of three factors: effect on the development of adjacent branches of industry, guaranteeing of a reliable fuel and energy supply, and selection of solutions corresponding to a lower ″price of adaptation″ of the system.
