Objective trends of electric power systems interconnection will lead to the creation of Global Energy Interconnection (GEI). The concept of GEI is discussed. Future Euro-Asian electric power super pool will play a key role in the GEI. Unified Energy System (UES) of Russia should have an important integrating position in this super interconnection. The requirements for the development of UES of Russia are presented. © 2019 IEEE.
