This paper considers the possibility of integrating of the intelligent technologies (artificial neural networks and expert systems) and the concept of describing nonlinear dynamics with Volterra integro-power series using an intelligent information technology. This can be used to describe the interaction of energy system elements on both, the digital and physical level, operating as agents in the environment of evolving energy ecosystem agents. We focus on the development and substantiation of the strategy for joint application of integral models taking into account areas of their application. We pay special attention to the need to integrate software tools for constructing Volterra models and an expert system providing decision support in the study of the response of technical (energy) objects. Structural organization for building models based on Volterra polynomials and modeling results is given. The architecture of an intelligent information technology environment providing this integration is considered. The discussion of possible approaches to the intellectualization of the IT environment and its future possibilities is given. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
