Cyber-Physical Microgrid: Development Trends, Digitalization Directions, Management Features
This article reviews the global trends in off-grid renewable energy in the regional context, technologies and applications as a potential for microgrid development. It reviews the global market of distributed generation. The forecast of distributed generation market capacity up to 2030 is made. The main factors contributing to the acceleration of the growth rate of the market are identified. Segmentation of the distributed generation market by various characteristics has been carried out. It is substantiated that distributed generation systems will be the strategic objects of digitalization in the medium term. The key drivers of the market of digital solutions for distributed generation were identified, as well as the main trends in the development of digital technologies for building microgrids. The analysis allowed to formulate the main types of risks caused by the active implementation of digital technologies in distributed generation systems. The peculiarities of cyber-physical microgrid (CPMG) management are revealed taking into account their classification. The comparison of characteristics of the ways of implementation of MG management methods, their advantages and disadvantages contributing to the emergence of risks in the digitalization of distributed energy facilities is given. © 2024 IEEE.
