The Economic Research Institute for Northeast Asia (ERINA) founded in Niigata in October 1993 specializes in studies of economies of Northeast Asian countries. The researchers of the Institute collect and analyze economic data, conduct studies on the energy situation in Northeast Asian countries, and hold international conferences, workshops, and symposia.

Since its establishment in June 1966, Institute of Energy Economics of Japan has been the leading state research energy institute under the Government of Japan. The Institute takes an active part in the implementation of the projects for bilateral and multilateral energy cooperation in Northeast Asia and offers solutions for sustainable development of the world’s energy.

Founded on September 1, 1986 KEEI sets to develop policies on national energy and natural resources, and contributes to the national economy by collecting,investigating, analyzing, and disseminating information,and by educating policymakers on a variety of trends and information regarding energy and natural resources.
