The 3rd Asia-Pacific Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water, and Environment Systems (SDEWES) was held on April 6–9, 2026, in Shenzhen, China. A. A. Levin, D. Sc. in Engineering, Chief Researcher at the Melentiev Energy Systems Institute of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ESI SB RAS) and a member of the RAS National Committee on Heat and Mass Transfer, participated in the forum.
The SDEWES Conference stands as one of prestigious international forums advancing a comprehensive approach to sustainable development. The participants focused on energy system integration, resource management, environmental security, renewable energy, as well as digital technologies and power system modeling. A distinctive feature of the Conference was a dedicated panel session exploring shifting paradigms and challenges within the evolving publishing landscape. During this session, editorial board members of leading energy journals (Energy, Applied Thermal Engineering, Energy Reports, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Energy Storage and Savings) shared their insights on emerging trends. The session then culminated in an extensive discussion with prominent experts.
