We describe the algorithm for the adequacy discrete optimization of electric power systems (EPSs). The algorithm is based on the expectation of dual-use estimates obtained when evaluating the EPS carrying adequacy through the Monte-Carlo method based on restrictions of generating capacity in the EPS nodes and communication capacity of EPS. The developed algorithm is elected. Reducing the number of the addressed options for EPS expansion is performed depending on the analysis of the dual-estimate expectation. We present practical applications for experimental investigations into the algorithm.
